Shelter
This book is written by Beth Cooley. It is very good. I really enjoyed it. Lucy, who was a spoiled brat, becomes homeless when her dad dies, and Lucy's mom finds out that he had borrowed too much money. So, they become broke and homeless. They move to a homeless shelter, where there are people on drugs, and Lucy's mom is struggling to live without money. She won't leave the room, and won't get a job. Lucy struggles to find new friends in her new school. I think it is a really good book for anyone who is able to read chapter books.
Flash Fire
People around Pinch Canyon are used to all the fires. They burn all the time, and never get to Pinch Canyon. Or so they thought. What will happen when the fire does reach Pinch Canyon? Will Danna, Hall, Beau, and Elizabeth make it to the bottom of the mountain? This book, by Caroline B. Cooney, was alright, but I've read better.
13 Little Blue Envelopes
Ginny is given 13 blue envelopes by her dead aunts friend. Her aunt had died a while before this. The first envelope tells Ginny to pack some belongings in a back pack, and a ticket to London. In the letter, it gives Ginny a task, and tells her that she can't open the next one till she completes this task. The envelopes send her all around the world. This book, by Maureen Johnson, is a higher level book. I didn't enjoy it as much as I've enjoyed other books, but it was still okay.
The Ersatz Elevator
This book, written by Lemony Snicket, is the sixth book in the series, A Series of Unfortunate Events. Violet, Klause, and Sunny, are the main characters in this series. But, at the end of that book, their friends were kidnapped by Count Olaf, the man who is trying to steal their fortune. In this book, Count Olaf comes again in disguise as an auctioneer. Will the orphans be able to rescue the triplets? Find out in this adventure packed book.

When Comes the Spring
Elizabeth and Wynn marry, but are sent to the Canadian wilderness. There will be harsh winters, and Elizabeth must adjust to the way of life farther north. She gets lonely because she is the only "white woman" there. The rest of the village is all Indians.
I recomend this book, the second in the series by Janette Oke, to anyone who enjoys heartwarming books that take place in the past.

When Calls the Heart
This book by Janette Oke, is about a young woman, named Elizabeth, or Beth, who is asked to teach in a town far from her home town, with her brother. But when she gets there, she is posted to teach in Pine Springs, a town in the wilderness. It is hard for her since she is a rich town girl. She says she will never marry any of the southern men. Then she meets Wynn. She likes Wynn, but he has also said that he will not marry because he is always on the move since he is a Royal Canadian Mountie. This book, takes place in the past, and is really good. This book is has a higher reading level than others I've read, but I think anyone who likes books about the past, would like it.
